Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare publishes educational content to help patients understand eye health, eye examinations, treatment options, and questions to discuss with an eye-care professional. Website content is general information and does not replace an examination, diagnosis, or individualized medical advice.
How Content Is Developed
Content is prepared from information supplied by the practice, current service and physician records, and authoritative references. Medical topics are written in patient-friendly language, with important limitations, alternatives, risks, and candidacy factors included when relevant.
Fact-Checking and Medical Review
Quantitative claims, physician credentials, regional milestones, treatment availability, research participation, awards, review statistics, and other verifiable statements must have an approved source before publication. Medical and safety-sensitive pages are assigned to a qualified ophthalmologist, optometrist, or other appropriate clinician for review. A named reviewer is displayed after that review is completed.
Source Standards
Priority is given to primary and authoritative sources, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the National Eye Institute, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, current device labeling, recognized professional guidance, and peer-reviewed research. Sources are selected for direct relevance to the claim being made.
Updates and Corrections
Core treatment and condition pages are reviewed at least annually and sooner when there is a change in regulation, device labeling, clinical practice, provider status, treatment availability, or other material information. Corrections are made when an error or outdated statement is identified. The page’s updated or reviewed date is changed only when substantive review has occurred.
Reviews and Testimonials
Patient reviews are presented in context and are not a promise that another patient will have the same experience or result. Quotes must be accurate, authorized for use, and linked to a broader reviews resource when appropriate. The practice does not selectively suppress critical feedback on third-party platforms.
Editorial Independence
Educational content should explain reasonable options and tradeoffs rather than present a single procedure, technology, or lens as appropriate for everyone. Financial, promotional, or manufacturer relationships do not replace clinical evaluation or informed consent.
Questions or Corrections
Questions about website content or requests to review a possible correction may be submitted through the contact page.
